Dakota Carson

Her story

Woodstock raised.
Blue Ridge rooted.

Dakota Carson grew up in Woodstock, Georgia, but if you ask her where her heart truly lives, she’ll point you toward the family farm tucked away in the hills outside Blue Ridge. It was there—among creeks, pasture fences, and the quiet rhythm of country life—that the stories shaping her music first began.

On the farm

“That farm outside Blue Ridge… that’s where my soul learned how to breathe.”

Her childhood was filled with long days outside, muddy boots, animals that needed tending, and family who believed in working hard and laughing even harder.

“I lived my early years through my daddy’s eyes,” Dakota laughs. “He taught me to spit bubblegum juice like it was chewing tobacco. I thought that was the coolest thing in the world.”

Rough-and-tumble and more comfortable outdoors than anywhere else, Dakota found freedom and confidence around animals and wide-open land. “I looked like a boy growing up, so I acted like one,” she says with a grin. “I found peace with the animals I grew up with because they never judged me.”

Where the music began

“I loved when my mama would sing in the kitchen when we cooked. I always hoped to sing like her.”

While the farm shaped Dakota’s toughness, the music in her home shaped her heart. Those quiet kitchen songs became the emotional starting point for stories about young love, heartbreak, independence, late-night drives through mountain roads, and the quiet strength that comes from growing up close to the land.

Her sound blends modern-country energy with the timeless storytelling that built the genre. Whether the song is bold, tender, or made for singing along, Dakota brings strength, honesty, humor, and a deep love for the places that shaped her.
